Not a flame starter.

Right, I was linked to this site from another forum and my interest was sparker slightly.

When I was younger I used to watch DBZ/DB/GT and I was a pretty big fan so when I heard about this movie I was both intrigued and a little put off. I understand that DB is a manga/anime/game and to be honest I don't think a movie with real actors is going to work at all, a perfect example of this being the "Death Note" movie which was horrible.

I can also see why you guys view this movie as a money making scheme, and yes bottom line is that that's what it is. We are all out to make money and despite this movie being an abortion of the DBZ franchise I don't understand why there is a need to protest against it. If you don't want to see it then don't view it (I know I won't). But from a legal point of view there is no solid ground for a protest to hold. I myself protest against a few things that I believe have a negative effect on the human race (such as pointless wars) but I personally just feel that protesting against a movie on the grounds that it's a money making scheme is a little pointless and I would even go as far to say as petty as there are far more important things in the world.

I do not come here in order to offend you so please do not think I have, I merely wish to follow your progress with this, and would be very interested to see if it takes off and I do wish you the best of luck in your crusade.

Anyway I would be interested to hear some reasons why you are so against it as I'm sure it must stem further than the fact it's just a money making project, because let's face it, almost all movies are.

I have read the rules and once again I would like to clarify that I bring no hate here and I am indeed interested in this petition.

I understand you absolutely, and agree, but you must understand, most of us are very different from each other and, its just a matter of the temperament, opinions, tastes, and the way you take things...

And I know, of course, I heard sentences like "if you don't like it then don't friggin watch it" at least about 30 times, and I can't understand those sentence just as much as someone can't understand my opinion and all this forum and petition stuff...
Like I said different temperament, opinions and such....

I even gave the same example as a reply on most of those sentences...
example is just a other version of that sentence:
"If you don't like to watch your friend suffer, then don't friggin go to hospital to visit him!"

And I think this example perfectly explains all....

So all in all I understand you, but then you must understand me, and others on this forum :/

I will gladly tell you reasons...there are to many reasons...
But all in all I don't want DB franchise to become a pop culture steryotipe.
I don't want DB to be anything else than what it is...I don't want DB/Z to fall off his style and turn away from its story...NO!
And I certainly don't want to see Chatwin walking down THAT WRETCHED CELEBRITY RED CARPET while everyone call him "the Goku guy" or such... +a fan girls are screaming "eeeeek!" after him!!!!

Trust me its not that easy to explain how I feel about all this, because it disturbs me in soooo many ways, because of soooo many reasons, and all those ways and reasons are pretty similar but yet not easy to explain....

you could never know how exactly I feel, but just imagine, how much I am pissed off now, when just the mentioning of the IDEA "Hollywood DB" back then at 2003, made me like "HHAAAAAAA!!! WTF!?!?! PLEASE NO! PLEASE KAMI NOOOO!!!! NO JUST NOT THE HOLLYWOOD PLEASE NOOO!!!! THEY'VE ALREADY SCREWED UP MY PRECIOUS STREET FIGHTER!!!"
I was so scared and pissed off...
and considering that I am a biiiiiiiiiig celebrity/pop-culture/hollywood standards - hater(only hater, nothing against them directly )
How do you think I feel now after all this....all this.....I can't even come up with a proper word, the word for such disaster simply does not exist...

So like I said, you must udnerstand me, I am not kind of person who understands the sentence "live with it" no, unfortunately no...If I am gonna live with something that is against my principles and against my pride I'LL FIGHT IT TILL I'M ALIVE.

And the fact that I have nothing to lose make me 100% sure that I will fight against this movie even if I am the only person in the world, who's against it...

Well, actually... my opinion is something between CaptainGingerbeard's and Vegeta's...
I'm sooo against this movie... I COULD start with "why's" of course, but I won't...not this time… Actually… I did this so many times... when I was "blinded" with anger, when I wanted sort of "justice", when I wanted just to protect this thing I like very much. But now... I find that pointless... 'couse those arguments which seem so convincible to me, may sound as superficial and inconclusive to someone else. Again… someone's gonna agree with it… someone's not... >> It's subjective... Vegeta's arguments are pretty true, noble and idealistic... and I agree with almost all of them... I always admired his passion and pure-hearted-fan ideas... And I will always support him, as a great friend, good person and honest DB/Z fan... help somehow if I can… share my "energy" if that's gonna help canceling the movie... But, personally, in my head, I have finished with DB LAM... CaptainGingerbeard, like you said, I just won't watch it... and that's my way of protest... [Vegeta… when my friend is sick, I will go visit him, because he's still my friend… But when someone I don't know is sick, someone with the same name as my friend's, or someone who looks like my friend just a little bit... then I won't, 'couse he's not my friend after all... minimal similarities with my friend don't make him worth of my visit << The same thing with DB LAM... though I DO understand you ]
